Rev. Jerry Troyer is the founding minister of Joyful Living Church in the Mission Valley area of San Diego.  He has studied New Thought and Religious Science teachings since 1989, and became senior minister of the New Thought Center for Creative Living in 2005.  Under Rev. Jerry's direction, the spiritual community changed focus and mission to embrace compassion, healing and joy in 2009, becoming a new organization called Joyful Living Church.

Rev. Jerry is a native of San Diego County.  He struggled with food addiction and self-worth issues related to sexual orientation until coming out in 1982, but found ongoing concerns around self-acceptance and a relationship with Spirit (God, the Universe, our Higher Power).

Religious Science teachings have allowed Rev. Jerry to heal his relationship with his Higher Power, release habits that no longer serve him, and continue the process of coming out to himself--recognizing, then honoring, then embracing his sexual orientation.

Rev. Jerry is a volunteer at the LGBT Community Center in San Diego, and is working on his first book, Coming Out to Ourselves.

Rev. Jerry and his life partner, Jerry Collins, live in La Mesa with their Golden Retriever, "Roxie."
